Undertale feels strange right away in a good way. It looks simple at first, almost too simple, but it quickly becomes something way more memorable. First few minutes, the game feels light and kinda funny. Characters talk in weird ways, the world looks basic, and the music instantly stands out. Then the game starts throwing choices at you, and that’s when it really pulls you in.
The core gameplay mixes RPG mechanics with bullet-hell style combat. But the big thing is that you don’t actually have to kill enemies. Undertale lets you fight, spare, talk, or do random actions during battles. It sounds weird, but it works really well. Every choice changes how characters react and even affects the story later.
Difficulty is mixed. Some fights are easy and goofy, while others get surprisingly hard. Dodging attacks becomes intense during certain boss fights, especially if you’re not prepared. The game can catch you off guard emotionally too, not just gameplay-wise.
The world has a lot of personality. Even with simple graphics, every area and character feels unique. The soundtrack honestly carries a huge part of the experience too—it sticks with you. Overall, Undertale is not a normal RPG. It’s funny, emotional, awkward sometimes, and really creative. It’s not perfect, but it does things most games don’t even try. Definitely worth playing if you want something different.
